SF-2040G Pole Mount GIS Sensor
NavCom's SF-2050G and SF-2050M model receivers deliver unmatched positioning accuracy to system integrators needing a cost-effective, high performance differential GPS sensor. These unique receivers use the StarFire™ Network, NavCom's worldwide differential GPS system, for instant decimeter-level position accuracy, anywhere in the world, anytime.
NavCom's SF-2040G differential GPS receiver delivers unmatched global positioning accuracy to system integrators needing a cost-effective, high performance GIS and mapping position sensor. This unique receiver uses the NavCom StarFire™ global differential GPS system to provide instant position information for decimeter accuracy anywhere in the world, anytime.
The rugged and reliable SF-2040G, complete with a GPS receiver, L-band communications receiver, tri-band antenna and rechargeable internal batteries is conveniently packaged into a singular unit, ideal for mounting on a standard survey pole or tripod for a wide range of GIS, mapping and data collection applications.
The SF-2040G receiver uses proven GPS technology, the NCT-2000D advanced GPS receiver, which is integrated into thousands of receivers used in agriculture, offshore, and surveying. Furthermore, it incorporates several "next generation" patented innovations. The custom designed DSP technology provides a 50% signal-to-noise ratio advantage over any competing technology, and the combination of interference suppression, multipath mitigation, and measurement accuracy sets a new standard for GPS receivers.
Applications
The SF-2040G is designed for easy integration into applications such as GIS data collection, data maintenance, in-field data verification, topographic surveys and a wide variety of mapping applications. The user-provided mapping device simply connects to the serial port and is ready to receive position data in NMEA format or the NavCom proprietary binary data interface for additional monitor and control capability.
The receiver offers several different operating modes for maximum flexibility. The primary mode, uses the StarFire™ differential service and offers decimeter-level accuracy for immediate results in the field; great for navigation and relocation of existing assets. For sub-meter position accuracy, the SF-2040G will automatically use WAAS or EGNOS differential signals when available. Optionally, the user can record "raw" dual-frequency GPS measurements, for post-processing, back in the office.
Flexible Interface
The SF-2040G is easily configured by the included Windows®-based utility program. Alternatively, the receiver offers a binary user interface for maximum flexibility. The interface allows complete command and control of the GPS and L-band receivers, allowing customization of the interface and receiver operation. For example, binary message options include navigation rates of up to 25 Hz and raw data messages of up to 50 Hz. Additionally, the instrument receives differential corrections for DGPS in various formats, i.e. RTCM v2.2, CMR or NavCom's proprietary format for optimal performance and seamless position output.
